Hospice

Susie Bowling Lawrence Hospice

What is Hospice?

Hospice exists in the hope and belief that, through appropriate care, patients and their families may be free to attain a degree of quality of life, mental and spiritual preparation for death, and peace of mind that is meaningful to them.

Susie Bowling Lawrence Hospice is a non-profit organization dedicated, through its programs and services, to offer support and care for individual needs during the process of an incurable disease so that patients may live as fully and comfortably as possible.

Hospice affirms and supports life and neither hastens nor postpones death. Hospice care is oriented toward COMFORT through appropriate pain management.

Hospice responds to the unique needs of the terminally ill by providing physical and emotional care to the dying person and their families. The hospice philosophy seeks to allow the terminally ill person to be at home, close to family and friends, while still under professional medical supervision.

Your local Hospice group is made up of professionally trained medical personnel, local community volunteers, and the community pastorate.
